Career Day 2026
Insights into the Waltershausen Industrial Park
Behind the Scenes:
The Waltershausen Industrial Park
On Career Day, we hosted an event for the first time as the Waltershausen Industrial Park that showcased what we stand for: passion for our work, hands-on practice, and the responsibility to actively shape the future. That’s what it’s all about making visible what we do every day, what we are capable of, and the exciting opportunities the rubber industry has to offer. Especially for young people, it’s important not just to learn about professions theoretically, but to experience them up close. And that’s exactly what this day made possible.
Rubber Is What We Do
Under the motto “We Make It with Rubber”, our industrial park opened its doors on March 18, 2026, for the annual Career Day. Together with our partners OESL, Continental, and CarlisleCARLISLE, we offered numerous young people exciting insights into the diverse professional world of the rubber industry. The event was officially opened by the local management teams, Mayor Leon Graupner, Adrian Weber representing the Gotha District Office, and Ms. Irena Michel from the Federal Employment Agency – the initiator of this nationwide action day.
Following the opening, visitors were treated to a varied program: in hands-on workshops, the young participants could get actively involved. They glued hearts from tunnel profiles, crafted bouncy balls and model jeeps, and sealed roof corners. During the factory tours through the four production facilities, visitors gained exclusive insights into the manufacturing processes at the Waltershausen site.
It was particularly gratifying to see that not only the young participants approached the day with curiosity and enthusiasm. Many parents also took the opportunity to get an impression, ask questions, and explore the wide range of possibilities. The exchange between generations once again highlighted the importance of such formats for career orientation.
“The day was marked by great interest, engaging conversations, and many new insights – a complete success for everyone involved.”
Commented Christian Laue, Head of Training at the Waltershausen Training Center.
“For us, it is clear: these insights are a crucial step in attracting the skilled professionals of tomorrow and showing them how versatile and future-proof our industry is.”Kommentierte Christian Laue, Ausbildungsleiter des Ausbildungszentrums Waltershausen.
We sincerely thank all partners, supporters, and guests who made this day possible.
Impressions
The day impressively demonstrated what is possible when companies, trainers, and partners work together toward a common goal: creating opportunities and inspiring enthusiasm.
