Making sustainability measurable: The Rail Comfort System (RCS) has been recognized with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), sending a strong signal for future-ready urban rail transport. This marks the second time that sealing solutions from SEALABLE Solutions GmbH have been independently certified as sustainable and transparent, covering the full life cycle from raw material sourcing and production to use and end-of-life. The EPD provides planners, operators, and clients with a reliable data foundation to assess infrastructure projects against objective sustainability criteria.
Sustainable tracks for livable cities
In urban environments, modern transport systems must deliver far more than just functionality. Solutions are needed that combine performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental responsibility. SEALABLE’s Rail Comfort System (RCS) achieves this by offering defined elastic rail support via prefabricated elastomer profiles and continuous electrical insulation between rail and concrete.
In addition to reliable stray current protection in accordance with EN 50122 and effective reduction of vibration and noise emissions, the RCS provides high flexibility for embedded track, grooved, and Vignole rails. Its specially developed elastomer material is designed for long-term durability under static and dynamic loads, weathering, and chemical exposure. The result: a long-lasting, low-maintenance, and environmentally sound track system.
The certification also helps clients meet modern sustainability requirements and international evaluation systems, making RCS a key component for climate-conscious procurement and forward-looking urban mobility concepts.
